Most sustainability websites try to speak to customers, investors, regulators and job seekers from one homepage, and end up convincing none of them. Earthly is a sustainability Astro theme for clean energy companies, ESG consultancies and environmental service firms, and it ships four complete versions of the site so each business model gets a homepage written for it.
It suits companies that sell measurable outcomes: solar and wind developers, battery storage and EV charging providers, ESG and carbon accounting advisors, and environmental science teams that need to show projects, data and credentials rather than a mission statement alone.

Four sites in one, keep the one you need
The all-solutions site sits at the root, with energy, ESG and environmental variants under their own prefixes. They are different designs rather than reskins. Keep the one that fits your business, delete the other three folders and their menu entries, and the rest of the site carries on as it was.
Content that checks itself
Every list on the site is a folder of Markdown files. Add a file to add a project, a solution, a team member or an open role, and an order field decides where it appears. The collection schemas fail the build if a field or an image is missing, so a broken entry never reaches production.
Retheme it from a single place
Colors, spacing and radii are design tokens in one stylesheet, and every template asks for a token rather than naming a color. Change the lime accent once and it carries through buttons, highlights and active states everywhere. A style guide page shows every component, so you can see what a change did.
The three font families (Bricolage Grotesque, Inter Tight and DM Mono) are downloaded at build time and served from your own domain, so the deployed site makes no request to Google.
Motion that respects the reader
Scroll reveals, split-text headings and smooth scrolling, all driven from one script file with named constants for duration and easing. Nothing is hidden until a script runs, so removing the motion leaves a working site rather than a blank one, and all of it honors the reduced-motion setting.
What this theme does not do
It is the company website. It does not include an application, a login, a client portal or a back end.
Pricing is presented rather than transacted. There is no checkout and no store, so payments belong in your own system.
There is no CMS connection in the box. Content is Markdown in the repository, and connecting a headless CMS is a project of its own.
The demo photography is placeholder imagery from Freepik, licensed to the original design rather than to you. Replace it before you launch. Images are referenced by name, so a swap keeps every layout intact.
Who it is for
- Clean energy companies offering solar, wind, battery storage or EV charging
- ESG consultancies covering strategy, carbon accounting and sustainability reporting
- Environmental service firms and eco-tech startups with projects and data to show
- Sustainability groups presenting several service lines under one brand
- Teams who would rather edit content files than fight a page builder
Customizing it
Solutions, projects, posts, roles and team members are content entries, so adding to the site means filling in fields. Design changes start from the one stylesheet where the tokens live, and the style guide page shows the result across every component at once.
If you would rather not do it yourself, our team can customize this theme for you, from color and content changes through to new pages and custom functionality. Request a theme customization quote.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a CMS to use it?
No. The theme ships with all its content included as Markdown files and works as it is.
Can I use only one of the four homepages?
Yes. Keep the version that fits your business and delete the other three. Each is a complete site with its own About and Contact pages.
How hard is it to change the colors and fonts?
Colors live in one stylesheet and fonts in one config array. A change carries through every page, and the style guide shows the result on every component.
Does it need a server to run?
No. It builds to static files and deploys to any static host, including Netlify, Vercel, Cloudflare Pages and GitHub Pages. It needs Node 22.12 or newer to build.
Support
Support for template-related issues is included. New features and customization are available as a paid service. The Figma design file is included with your purchase.
